Saturday July 5th [Avery Ranch] and Sunday July 6th [Babes on Bikes] Rides!

Babes on Bikes!
Babes on Bikes!

Saturday we did the Scenic route and it was a hard ride because of wind.  There was only 10 riders probably because of the rain.  We had 3 flats on the way downtown.  No other incidents reported other than it was a challenging ride.  We will be doing the Avery Ranch Loop this upcoming weekend because the 620 towards Lakeway is being worked on.  I think you all should stay off that portion of the 620 until construction is completed.  So no Damn Loop or Cozy Cove for a few weeks.

Sunday was the “Babes on Bikes” and “Sunday Social” ride lead by Cheryl Campbell.  They also had 10 riders on Sunday.  This is a great recover ride or if you are Babe and want to get out on your bike but have been intimidated because of all the testosterone.   This is a no Drop ride.

NEXT WEEKENDS RIDES

AVERY RANCH RIDE – Saturday July 5th at 7:30am at Cups & Cones

On Saturday the Steiner Ranch Cycling Group will be heading out for an approximately 55+ mile bike ride.  The standard AVERY RANCH ride is going to be fairly flat and fast.  We will do our best to keep the group together but you will need to have a certain level of riding experience and conditioning to stay with the main group or else you may get left behind.  There is no designated sweeper for our Saturday ride.

There will be an A and B group so everyone should have a group they should comfortably be able to ride with.

The route are as follows:

BABES ON BIKES and SOCIAL RIDE – Sunday July 6th at 8:30am at Cups & Cones

Come join us for our “Babes on Bikes” and “Sunday Social” ride lead by resident Biker Babe Cheryl Campbell.  This is a great ride for women that want to get out on their bike in a friendly and non-intimidating environment and get some exercise.  It is also a great recovery ride for those that want to get out there and spin.   I’m sure as the Sunday group builds over time there will also be an A and B group.  This is a NO drop ride.   The ride will stay inside Steiner Ranch unless the group votes on an alternative route.  Here is a quote from last week’s ride:

“I just wanted to say thanks to everyone at the Social/Ladies Ride this morning for making a newbie feel welcome and very much NOT intimidated! My apologies for forgetting some of your names, but you guys were great and made me feel very welcome. And Cheryl is a great motivator! I’ll definitely be back!”

  1. Hi, good morning, just want you to be aware there’s a section of the road between 183 and 183A (toil road) along E Crystal Falls Parkway on your route that is currently closed under construction.

    Happy riding!
