WEEKEND RECAP

Saturday we had 17 riders show up for downtown scenic ride and it was a great morning for riding.  There were a couple of mechanicals and a communications breakdown that resulted in the group getting busted up several times.  Next Saturday morning we can talk about a group protocol.

Sunday we had 12 riders and we had a really nice cruise around Steiner Ranch.

NEW KIT FITTING PARTY

Here is yet another opportunity to mark your calendar for February 26th at The University of Texas Golf Club in Steiner Ranch in the Santa Rita room.  We will be doing fittings from 6pm until 8pm.  Afterwards feel free to stick around and socialize in the bar area.  I’ll pre ordered some appetizers and the Club will be offering ½ priced drinks.

Remember if you want a kit show up for the fitting or make arrangements with Tom Delaney at delaneyt@earthlink.net or call him at 512-796-4449 to drive out to his area for an alternative date to get fitted.  Tom is in our club and works for Descente Cycling.  Get your fitting done before the fitting party because we are going to place our orders shortly thereafter.  If you’re on the free list or if you want to buy a kit you need to get this fitting knocked out before the deadline.  We hope to have the kits back from production by the end of March.

Our Committed Sponsors:  Resolute Fitness, Texas Beef Council, Austin City Living, FrontYrd, Dream Smiles Dental, PayPal, Descente and MapMyRide.

NEXT WEEKENDS RIDES

COZY COVE – Saturday February 22nd at 8:30am at Cups & Cones

This ride will leave from Cups & Cones at 8:30 am and heads out towards Lakeway over the dam on 620 and then we make a right on Lakeway Blvd  and then left on Highland then right on Bee Creek Rd. all the way out to Pedernales and back.   It is about 45 miles round trip and over 3,000 feet of climbing.

As always we will do our best to keep the group together but there is no designated sweeper for this ride.  I typically bring up the rear but that pace is still about 15mph + average and the faster riders will be averaging 20mph.

Below is a link to the map of our ride.
