This weekend’s rides: Liberty Hill! Red Horn!

This weekend’s weather looks awesome! Low winds, perfect temps, sunny! I’m so excited.

Saturday we take a straight shot up Ronald Reagan and over to Liberty Hill. After a brief refuel, we will head back via Round Mountain, but we will take a detour from our usual route to CR 281 so we avoid the nasty part of Nameless. The route is 67 miles and is here: https://www.strava.com/routes/8561400. After the ride we meet up at Lakeside for some discounted burgers and beer!

Sunday is our usual Coffee Shop ride to Red Horn. It is 50 miles and is at an endurance pace typically finishing around a 17mph average speed overall. While we make great efforts to keep the group together, this is NOT a no drop ride. If you cannot hang with the group after repeated regrouping, you may get dropped. Red Horn is 20 miles away and is where we stop for coffee, breakfast tacos, pastries, and socializing before finishing the rest of the ride. The route can be found here: https://www.strava.com/routes/4736117 .

Both rides leave from Cups & Cones at 7:30 am. Come early on Saturdays to grab some coffee, kolaches, and donuts! Support our local ride start shop!

See you soon!

This weekend’s rides: Race weekend fallout

This Sunday is the Bat City Classic at Apache Pass road race (http://www.batcitycycling.com/bat-city-classic/). This means many of us will be gone on Sunday and prepping on Saturday instead of attending our normal weekend rides. So far nobody has stepped up to lead any ride on either day, but I’m sure there are several folks that are NOT going to race which still want to ride.

If you are interested in riding either Saturday or Sunday, please email the club and express your interest so that others will join you. Or just show up at Cups & Cones at 7:30am both days and ride with others that show up.

Next weekend everything should return to normal.

See you soon!
