This weekend’s rides: Lime Creek! Red Horn!

I don’t know about you, but I am ready to get back to our regular Saturday ride schedule! So many organized rides lately… I miss riding with all of you guys.

Saturday we will ride our “Lime Creek Reverse” route! This is a mostly flat 61 mile route that takes us on Lakeline and down the Triple Bs then up Abbotsbury. The route can be found here: https://www.strava.com/routes/4732205. There will be an A and a B group, so everyone should have a group to ride with. I’m hoping for a large turnout! After the ride we meet up at Lakeside for some discounted burgers and beer!

Sunday you have a choice of supporting the UT Cycling Club with Max on the Sweatin’ Burnt Orange Bike Tour (https://www.facebook.com/events/1119361274786397/) or our usual Coffee Shop ride to Red Horn. The Red Horn ride is 50 miles and is at an endurance pace typically finishing around a 17mph average speed overall. While we make great efforts to keep the group together, this is NOT a no drop ride. If you cannot hang with the group after repeated regrouping, you may get dropped. Red Horn is 20 miles away and is where we stop for coffee, breakfast tacos, pastries, and socializing before finishing the rest of the ride. The route can be found here: https://www.strava.com/routes/4736117 .

Both regular rides leave from Cups & Cones at 7:30 am, but the Burnt Orange ride starts at 8:30 in Blanco. Come early on Saturdays to grab some coffee, kolaches, and donuts! Support our local ride start shop!

See you soon!

This weekend’s rides: Tour das Hugel! Red Horn!

SRC,

A very busy last few months of organized rides is wrapping up and we will soon be back on our regular weekend schedule. We have one last organized ride this Saturday… Tour das Hugel! This is a nasty ride, but it is built in such a way that you don’t have to do the whole thing. The ride starts by the pedestrian bridge near Austin High School and makes two loops. You can do either or both loops and end up at your car. The full ride is about 110 miles and a whole lot of climbing. You should be able to do roughly half of that by picking one of the loops if you don’t have time or legs for the full thing. See the full details at http://www.dashugel.com (and the related Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/tourdashugel). Be sure to read the FAQ on the web site as its pretty funny and full of details. Lots of people do this ride and some will be walking their bikes up some of the hills. Push your comfort zones and come ride with us! Wheels down at 7am (Stratford and Mopac).

Sunday is our usual Coffee Shop ride to Red Horn. It is 50 miles and is at an endurance pace typically finishing around a 17mph average speed overall.
