This weekend’s rides: Walnut Creek Epic! Lamppost!

Saturday we will head out for something a little different and potentially more epic! I created a new route that combines the Walnut Creek bike trail (roughly 13 miles of no cars!) and a shot by McKinney Falls State Park which used to be famous for road racing many years ago The whole route is a full century, but there are options for 50 and 70 miles too. Note that several of us will end the ride at Rainy Street where Craft Pride is having a barrel aged beer festival. Those stopping there with us either need to arrange a ride home or finish the remaining 20+ miles (or jump on a train to Lakeline). Transportation discussion will probably take place on our GroupMe channel. The full route is here: https://www.strava.com/routes/13298160.

Sunday is our usual Coffee Shop ride. Our destination will be Lamppost Coffee in Round Rock. The route is 50 miles and takes us to Lamppost Coffee in Round Rock. The route is here: https://www.strava.com/routes/11766829 . This ride is ‘endurance pace’ and friendly. This means the entire ride should roughly be about 17mph average and we will try to keep everyone together, but it is still classified as a ‘drop ride’. If you cannot hang with the group after repeated regrouping, you may get dropped. We stop at the shop for coffee, breakfast tacos, pastries, and socializing before finishing the rest of the ride.

Both rides leave from Cups & Cones at 7:30 am. Come early on Saturdays to grab some coffee, kolaches, and donuts! Support our local ride start shop!

See you soon!

This weekend’s rides: Round Rock Donut Smash! Red Horn!

Saturday let’s ride our bikes really fast and grab a donut in Round Rock! The route is 56 miles and can be found here: https://www.strava.com/routes/6606274. After the ride we meet up at Lakeside for some discounted burgers and beer!

Sunday is our usual Coffee Shop ride to Red Horn. It is 50 miles and is at an endurance pace typically finishing around a 17mph average speed overall. While we make great efforts to keep the group together, this is NOT a no drop ride. If you cannot hang with the group after repeated regrouping, you may get dropped. Red Horn is 20 miles away and is where we stop for coffee, breakfast tacos, pastries, and socializing before finishing the rest of the ride. The route can be found here: https://www.strava.com/routes/4736117 .
