11/7 & 11/8 Rides: Dam Loop Attempt #2! Red Horn!

SRC,

When it rains, it pours (rimshot, groan). Saturday once again looks questionable for riding with the current forecast showing 60% chance of rain in the morning. Don’t give up! As you know, they aren’t always right.

Saturday some of us (myself included) will be heading down to hopefully ride the Tour de Gruene and attend Wurstfest afterward. We will have dinner at the Gristmill also, so if you are in the area give a shout out and join us! For those staying here, we can try again for the reverse Dam Loop option we held onto for the previous weekend’s rainy day option. Just show up at Cups & Cones at 7:30am as usual. With the time change it should be plenty light!

Sunday is the return of the Red Horn Coffee Shop ride. I will still be in New Braunfels cheering our guys for the team time trial races at the Tour de Gruene’s grueling 14 mile course :-). Again, just show up at Cups & Cones at 7:30am.

This weekend is the last of the big organized rides that have affected our regular weekend flow. We will be back to normal on the following weekend.

Regards,
Thomas

10/31 and 11/1 Rides! Dam Loop! Tour de Donut!

SRC,

Last weekend’s weather sucked. Saturday has a chance of rain… so keep your fingers crossed! Assuming the weather cooperates, we will roll out of Cups & Cones at the usual 7:30am for the Reverse Dam Loop. We don’t typically do this ride since it is so common for the area, but it has been a while for many of us. There will be options and discussion for adding on if desired.

Sunday is a special ride that I hope everyone in the club attends: Tour de Donut (http://tourdedonutaustin.com)! It is a short ride (about 25 miles) where riders (solo or in teams) race between 3 donut shops for the best time. The final time is reduced by how many donuts you eat! People of all skill levels (riding and eating) are expected and it should be a fun event for everyone. It is also free! This will take the place of our usual Coffee Shop ride. I am really hoping to get big SRC representation here, so please come! You don’t have to race… :-). Read the details and meet us all at 6:30am at the HEB at 183 and Braker. NOTE: DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME STARTS SO IT WON’T FEEL THAT EARLY! Be sure to read the info at the official ride web site. No signup is required.

See you soon!
