11/14 & 11/15 Rides: Bee Creek! Red Horn!

SRC,

This Saturday join us for a hilly jaunt down Bee Creek with some newish side tracks. This ride (more or less) we previously called Cozy Cove. Afterward, if we finish at a reasonable time, join us for burgers and beer at Lakeside (next door to Cups & Cones)!

Sunday is the Red Horn Coffee Shop ride. It is 50 miles of fairly relaxed and social pace on a mostly flat route. At mile 18 we stop at Red Horn on Parmer and 1431 for some coffee, breakfast tacos, pastries, and socializing. Average pace has been around 17mph at the end of the ride.

All rides depart from Cups & Cones at the usual 7:30 am.

RAGBRAI is coming! Be sure to register for this epic adventure Sunday when registration opens. Yes, you have to take a lot of time off from work. Yes, you will regret it if you keep passing up adventures like this before you die. We have about 10 people so far doing it. These folks aren’t the regular ‘run of the mill’ people… they are the fun ones that you want to hang out with on adventures like this.

See you soon!
Thomas

11/7 & 11/8 Rides: Dam Loop Attempt #2! Red Horn!

SRC,

When it rains, it pours (rimshot, groan). Saturday once again looks questionable for riding with the current forecast showing 60% chance of rain in the morning. Don’t give up! As you know, they aren’t always right.

Saturday some of us (myself included) will be heading down to hopefully ride the Tour de Gruene and attend Wurstfest afterward. We will have dinner at the Gristmill also, so if you are in the area give a shout out and join us! For those staying here, we can try again for the reverse Dam Loop option we held onto for the previous weekend’s rainy day option. Just show up at Cups & Cones at 7:30am as usual. With the time change it should be plenty light!

Sunday is the return of the Red Horn Coffee Shop ride. I will still be in New Braunfels cheering our guys for the team time trial races at the Tour de Gruene’s grueling 14 mile course :-). Again, just show up at Cups & Cones at 7:30am.

This weekend is the last of the big organized rides that have affected our regular weekend flow. We will be back to normal on the following weekend.

Regards,
Thomas
