This weekend’s rides: Ride Day Decision Saturday! Red Horn Sunday!

SRC,

This weekend’s forecast looks crappy. Rather than plan a route for Saturday, let’s just meet at the regular start and see what routes we can get away with. If it is raining at the start, the ride will be canceled. Several of us will be racing the La Primavera in Lago Vista, but we should still have a good turnout if the weather permits. After the ride we can hang out at Lakeside over some discounted burgers and beer. Good luck to our racers this weekend!

Sunday is our usual Coffee Shop ride to Red Horn. It is 50 miles and is at a more relaxed social pace than our Saturday rides, but we typically finish with a 17mph average speed overall. While we make great efforts to keep the group together, this is NOT a no drop ride. If you cannot hang with the group after repeated regrouping, you may get dropped. Red Horn is 18 miles away and is where we stop for coffee, breakfast tacos, pastries, and socializing before finishing the rest of the ride. The route can be found here: https://www.strava.com/routes/4736117 .

Both rides leave from Cups & Cones at 8:30 am. Come early on Saturdays to grab some coffee, kolaches, and donuts!

See you soon!

Vuelta Puerto Rico 2018! Epic!

SRC,

So far 5 of us (me, Michael, Robert Farnum, Kirk, and Dustin Dinh) have *signed up and paid for* this epic ride around Puerto Rico in January of 2018. This will be Michael’s 3rd time in a row doing this, so it must be awesome.

Since so many of your buddies have already committed and paid, you should feel extra comfortable in joining us on this epic and beautiful bicycling adventure. Invite anyone and everyone else you know that would like to do it. Note that they do cap the overall riders at 500 and this is a popular one. Get the kitchen pass now (its so far out, how could your spouse refuse?).

See y’all soon!
