Many of us will be going to RAGBRAI on the 22nd so this is the last group training opportunity… let’s make it a long one! Saturday we will head out for a 79 mile ride that takes us along the entire Walnut Creek Hike and Bike paved trail! We did this once before and it was a blast. After the ride we grab discounted burgers and beer at Lakeside next door to the start so be sure to put that in your plans!
Sunday is our usual Coffee Shop ride to Red Horn. It is 50 miles and is at a more relaxed social pace than our Saturday rides, but we typically finish with a 17mph average speed overall. While we make great efforts to keep the group together, this is NOT a no drop ride. If you cannot hang with the group after repeated regrouping, you may get dropped. Red Horn is 20 miles away and is where we stop for coffee, breakfast tacos, pastries, and socializing before finishing the rest of the ride. Both rides leave from Cups & Cones at 7:30 am. Come early on Saturdays to grab some coffee, kolaches, and donuts!
