NEXT WEEKENDS RIDES

DAM LOOP – Saturday December 7th at 8:30am at Cups & Cones

On Saturday December 7, 2013 the Steiner Ranch Cycling Group (SRC) will be co-hosting a ride that will roll out from Cups & Cones at 8:30 am this Saturday. As it is expected to be brutally cold and possibly icy we may cancel the ride for safety reasons. Please check in on our Facebook page and check your emails and this website.

The dam loop a challenging ride and is about 45 miles with over 3,000 feet of climbing. I have included a map but effectively we bike out 620 right on Four Points Blvd. into River Place through Westminster Glenn up to City Park Road to the 360 up to Bee Caves back to 620 towards Steiner Ranch.

As always, we will start and finish at Cups & Cones. Mileage and elevation can be added by dropping down Cuernavaca and doing the hill. That will have to be a game day call.

TOUR DE STEINER RANCH – Sunday December 8th at 8:30am at Cups & Cones
On Sunday the Steiner Ranch Cycling Group (SRC) will roll out from Cups & Cones at 8:30 am this Sunday morning for the Tour de Steiner Ranch. We will keep it in Steiner Ranch this weekend. Again weather may preclude us from riding so please stay posted.
The Tour de Steiner Ranch is a fun ride all around the picturesque landscapes of Steiner Ranch. We will cycle through the UT Club, by some lakeside estates, down to Lake Austin, through some neighborhoods and on some country roads.

The ride is about 24 miles. Again, I consider this an easy ride with the exception of some hills which could be considered challenging. The below link is our typical route but lately we have been doing shorter distances and flatter. We can also take a vote on Sunday morning.

CHARITY & OTHER CLUB RIDES

MS150 – Saturday and Sunday April 12 – 13, 2014 The BP MS 150 is a two-day fundraising cycling ride organized by the National MS Society. It’s not the miles that matter — it’s the unforgettable journey. Steiner Ranch Cycling Club will be setting up a team in October so people can start signing up. The ride starts in Houston and finishes in Austin. We are working on some sponsorships right now so we will get back to you soon with details on all the cool stuff we are going to get. This ride will cost $100 to register for and you will have to raise $400 in donations. If someone raises more than $400 they will be able to shift there excess funds to another rider that has not hit their limit. This is a Beef Team approved ride so 60% of the entry fee can be reimbursed. You can join our team at http://main.nationalmssociety.org/goto/BEEF
