SRC Weekend Rides – New route, Ski Shores/Triple Bs & Red Horn

Saturday there will be two group ride levels leaving at different times (from Cups & Cones) – Faster Pace and Endurance Pace. As outlined on our website, we try to accommodate various levels of rider interest and recently there are folks seeking a more moderate paced and less total miles on Saturdays. We hope that this attract area riders who want to learn group riding at a moderate pace.
• Faster Pace 7:00am ride has a couple of loops heading over to Ski Shores, Arboretum and down the Triple Bs for 60 miles at 18-20 mph avg. Get the route here! https://www.strava.com/routes/14924394
• Endurance Pace Group leaves at 8:00am this week we will be doing some of the most challenging hills in the area including Big View, Ski Shores, City Park and West Courtyard Drive. This ride will short with only 30 miles of riding but there will be about 3,000 feet of climbing. So that means we will regroup at the top of all the bigger climbs and you can expect the overall average pace to be a bit slower so around 13 -15 mph which means there may be times when we are going faster on the flats or downhills and slower on the climbs. We are going to do our best to make this a NO DROP ride but you are expected to have some basic level of fitness. https://www.strava.com/routes/14904057

After the ride, we meet up at Lakeside for some discounted breakfast tacos, burgers and beer!

Sunday is our usual Coffee Shop ride to Red Horn. It is 50 miles and is at an endurance pace typically finishing around a 17mph average speed. While we make great efforts to keep the group together, with a few re-group points, this is NOT a no drop ride. Red Horn is 20 miles away and is where we stop for coffee, breakfast tacos, pastries, and socializing before finishing the rest of the ride.
