SRC Weekend Rides – Walnut Creek/Manor & Red Horn!

Saturday there will be two group ride levels leaving at different times (from Cups & Cones) – Faster Pace and Endurance Pace. We try to accommodate various levels of rider interest and recently there are folks seeking a more moderate paced and less total miles on Saturdays. We hope that this will attract area riders who want to learn group riding at a moderate pace.

  • Endurance Pace Group leaves at 8:00am this week and we will be heading North toward Leander, turning around at Hero way. The route is mostly flat, but we are still climbing out of Steiner and will grab 1700 feet of elevation over 40 miles. The expected average is 16-18 mph over 40 miles. This is a NO DROP ride but you are expected to have some basic level of fitness. Route:

After the ride, we meet up at Lakeside for some discounted breakfast tacos, burgers and beer!

Sunday is our usual Coffee Shop ride to Red Horn from C&C at 7:00am. It is 50 miles and is at an endurance pace typically finishing around a 17mph average speed. While we make great efforts to keep the group together, with a few re-group points, this is NOT a no drop ride. Red Horn is 20 miles away and is where we stop for coffee, breakfast tacos, pastries, and socializing before finishing the rest of the ride. The route can be found here:
